Job summary

Tencent, a global Internet platform company, is expanding the Weixin Group (WXG) and seeks a backend/platform engineer to strengthen monitoring, reliability and operational excellence. You will develop and maintain backend services, build dashboards and improve observability to ensure stable performance across scalable systems.

The role requires 1–4 years in backend or related roles, degree in CS/IT, and Mandarin fluency for stakeholder communication.

Business Unit Introduction - Weixin Group (WXG)

Responsible for the construction and operation of the Weixin ecosystem and leveraging Weixin's open platforms such as Official Accounts, Mini Programs, Weixin Pay, WeCom and search function, WXG provides solutions and connectivity for intelligent upgrades across all industries. WXG is also responsible for the development and operation of QQ Mail, WeRead and other products.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system health, service performance, and operational metrics using monitoring and observability tools; support the development and maintenance of monitoring,dashboards,metrics,alerting,and related platform components.
• Develop and maintain backend services and platform features related to monitoring and operational capabilities, and contribute to enhancements and continuous improvements within existing systems.
• Support resource requests, allocation, configuration, and monitoring for data platform and infrastructure resources; perform routine maintenance to ensure platform stability and reliability.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting of common platform and infrastructure issues using logs, metrics, monitoring tools, and established SOPs; resolve routine issues where possible and **escalate** complex or high-impact issues to senior engineers.
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand resource requirements, support appropriate configurations, and communicate operational issues and potential risks clearly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1-4 years of experience in backend development, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure engineering, data platform, or related technical roles.
• Basic to intermediate experience in backend development using at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or similar.
• Experience or familiarity with system monitoring, metrics, logging, alerting, or production troubleshooting.
• Able to troubleshoot technical issues systematically using logs, metrics, monitoring tools, and SOPs.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluent Mandarin communication skills for communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and technical teams.

Good to Have

• Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana, or similar monitoring and observability tools.
• Exposure to data platforms, distributed systems, and large-scale data storage or computing clusters.
• Experience with DevOps, SRE, cloud infrastructure, scripting, or automation.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or CI/CD.
