Job summary

Nexperia in Malaysia is seeking a Facilities/Lab technician to collect water and wastewater samples from RODI, WWTP, STP, and other utility systems. You will perform laboratory analyses (pH, COD, BOD, metals), record results, conduct jar tests, and calibrate pH meters and instruments.

The role requires a Diploma in Science or equivalent, 1 year in manufacturing, and solid communication across levels. Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint/Word and knowledge of local regulations are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in science is required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
• Knowledge of local regulations including Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Good communication, leadership, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect water and wastewater samples from RODI, WWTP, STP, and other utility systems as required.
• Perform laboratory analysis including pH, COD, BOD, Copper, Tin, Suspended Solids, and related parameters.
• Record and maintain test results in hardcopy and softcopy formats.
• Conduct jar tests for wastewater samples.
• Calibrate portable pH meters and other laboratory instruments.
• Maintain records of laboratory chemicals and reagent inventories.
• Maintain 5S practices in the WWTP laboratory.
• Support audit readiness and third-party sample collections.
• Prepare letters, reports, and other documentation.
• Update Facilities organization charts, utility consumption records, and cost monitoring reports.
• Support RFQ, PR, PO, WRO, invoice processing, accrual submissions, budget planning, and CAPEX reporting.
• Monitor inventory levels of permits, PPE, safety items, uniforms, stationery, and consumables.
• Assist in administration and monitoring of licenses.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Section Head.

• Maintain cleanliness and 5S practices in the WWTP laboratory.
• Support audit readiness activities and third-party laboratory sample collections.
• Prepare letters, reports, and other documentation as required.
• Update Facilities organization charts, utility consumption records, and cost monitoring reports.
• Support RFQ, PR, PO, WRO, invoice processing, accrual submissions, budget planning, and CAPEX reporting activities.
• Monitor inventory levels of work permits, PPE, safety items, uniforms, stationery, and other Facilities-related consumables.
• Support the administration and monitoring of business and regulatory licenses.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Facilities Section Head.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
• Conversant with local rules, regulations, and laws related to the area of responsibility, including the Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Good communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
