Job summary

Bumantara Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a competent Wireman (Grade 1) / Site Electrician for our project in Simunjan, Sarawak. The role covers installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of temporary electrical wiring and site power supply.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Wireman Grade 1 Certificate of Competency and has at least 2 years of hands-on wiring/site experience, including temporary power distribution. Willingness to stay on-site full-time is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Wireman Grade 1 Certificate of Competency issued by the Electrical Inspectorate Unit (EIU), Sarawak.
• Competent to perform single-phase and three-phase wiring works.
• Relevant technical or vocational qualification in Electrical Wiring or related field is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical wiring/site experience.
• Experience with construction site temporary electrical supply and distribution boards.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
• Willing to stay and work full-time at Simunjan project site.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot temporary electrical wiring for construction site operations.
• Install and maintain distribution boards and lighting for site use.
• Carry out single-phase and three-phase wiring within competency.
• Inspect installations and identify electrical faults or hazards.
• Test installations to ensure safe operation before use.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements.
• Coordinate with project team and electrical contractor on connections and energisation.
• Provide electrical support during construction, testing and commissioning.

Job description

We are seeking a competent and experienced Wireman (Grade 1) / Site Electrician to join our project team in Simunjan, Sarawak.

Job Requirements

Possess a valid Wireman Grade 1 Certificate of Competency issued/recognised by the Electrical Inspectorate Unit (EIU), Sarawak.

Qualified and competent to carry out single-phase and three-phase electrical wiring works.

Relevant technical or vocational qualification in Electrical Wiring, Electrical Engineering or a related field will be an added advantage.

Minimum 2 years of relevant electrical wiring/site experience preferred.

Experience in construction site temporary electrical supply, distribution boards (DB), electrical wiring, testing and troubleshooting.

Good understanding of electrical safety requirements and safe working practices.

Experience in coordinating electrical supply connection and energisation works will be an added advantage.

Must be willing and able to stay and work full-time at the project site in Simunjan, Sarawak.

Job Responsibilities

Install, maintain and troubleshoot temporary electrical wiring and electrical supply required for construction site operations.

Install and maintain distribution boards, temporary power points, lighting and related electrical systems for site use.

Carry out single-phase and three-phase electrical wiring works within the holder's authorised competency.

Inspect electrical installations and identify electrical faults, unsafe wiring or other electrical hazards.

Carry out testing and ensure electrical installations are safe before use.

Ensure site electrical installations and wiring comply with applicable electrical safety requirements.

Coordinate with the project team and appointed electrical contractor/consultant on electrical connection, testing and energisation requirements.

Provide electrical support during construction, testing and commissioning activities where required.
