Job summary

Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Technician to join our Ipoh plant. You will assemble, test, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and appliances in the factory environment.

You will read electrical diagrams and schematics, troubleshoot malfunctions, and fabricate parts as needed to support production and maintenance operations. The role requires 3+ years hands-on experience, a Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Wiring, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Certificate in Wiring or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience as electrical technician or wiring is required.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and appliances in the plant.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for electrical installations.
• Liaise with authorities and vendors to ensure compliance with OSHA/EIA, DOSH, and other bodies.
• Maintain records and reports: inventories, damage, preventive maintenance, repair logs.
• Ensure ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 quality/environmental system conformance.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in 5S activities.

Job description

This role involves assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining all electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and appliances in the plant. You will troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications, and read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. You will assist in planning, organizing and implementing a comprehensive program including both corrective and preventive activities to ensure smooth operation of all mechanical and electrical installations.

Key responsibilities

Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain all electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and appliances in the plant

Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus

Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications

Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics

Assist to plan, organize and implement a comprehensive program to ensure smooth operation of all mechanical and electrical installation

Liaise with relevant Authorities and vendors to ensure compliance with applicable laws including OSHA / EIA Act, DOSH, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Jabatan Bomba and other regulatory governing bodies

Develop and maintain records and reports such as equipment and supplies inventories, damage reports, preventive maintenance and repair records

Ensure that the quality and environmental management system conforms to the requirement of ISO9001:2015 & ISO14001:2015

Follow all safety procedures & regulations and ensure safe work environment

Implement and participate actively in 5S activities for the Department & Organization

About you

Certificate in Wiring or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

At least 3 years of hands-on working experience as electrical technician or wiring

Able to work independently and as a team player

Good problem solving, planning & organizing, interpersonal, communication and training skills

Able to read electrical diagram
