Job summary

Ichor Systems, Inc. in Malaysia is seeking a Costing Engineer to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for stainless-steel weldment components.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations to turn drawings and requirements into reliable quotes. The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or related field and 3–5 years in cost estimating or costing engineering, with strong Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, VBA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing or Costing
• 3–5 years of relevant cost estimating/Costing Engineering experience
• Hands-on knowledge of stainless-steel welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
• Experience analyzing engineering drawings, specs and multi-level BOMs
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, VBA/macros)
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle; Agile experience is a plus
• Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, gas delivery systems, weldments or fabrication is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and independent working skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations for weldment components, new projects, and engineering changes
• Analyze engineering drawings, technical specs, and multi-level BOMs to determine material, labor, and processing costs
• Evaluate manufacturing processes, stainless-steel welding and fabrication requirements, testing, and outside processing costs
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations to establish suitable manufacturing methods and pricing
• Apply costing methodologies and pricing standards to support competitive customer quotations
• Identify costing risks, assumptions, and opportunities for cost optimization
• Maintain accurate costing data, quotation records, and supporting documentation
• Support customer and internal enquiries by providing timely costing information and feedback on business opportunities
