Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Welding Inspector with a Diploma in Mechanical or Welding Engineering and a minimum of 3 years in welding/fabrication. An AWS CWI certification is mandatory, with knowledge of WPS/PQR/WQT and relevant welding standards. The role covers procedures, records, and compliance across fabrication projects.

The position requires good problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills, and familiarity with ASME/AWS/ISO/SEMI standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in welding, fabrication, or related engineering role.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.
• Practical knowledge of welding procedures and qualification requirements (WPS, PQR, WQT).
• Familiarity with ASME, AWS, ISO, SEMI, and project/customer welding requirements.
• GTAW/TIG, orbital welding, and stainless-steel fabrication experience is an advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
• Knowledge of weld inspection methods and NDT requirements.
• Good problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and control welding procedures and qualification records.
• Manage welding parameters, materials, consumables, and process requirements.
• Monitor fabrication work to ensure welding is carried out per approved procedures.
• Arrange and oversee welder qualification and maintain certification records.
• Carry out visual examination of welds and assist with inspection and NDT activities.
• Prepare and maintain weld traceability documents, weld maps, inspection records, and reports.
• Identify welding non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support improvements to welding methods, quality, efficiency, and production performance.
• Liaise with clients, inspectors, and certification authorities as required.
