Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Welding Engineer/Inspector to join our quality team in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The candidate must hold a Diploma in Mechanical/Welding Engineering with at least 3 years in welding and fabrication, and a valid AWS CWI certification.

You will review welding procedures, monitor fabrication, and ensure compliance with ASME/AWS/ISO standards. Experience with GTAW/TIG, orbital welding, stainless steel fabrication, and the ability to read technical drawings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related field.
• At least 3 years in welding, fabrication, or related engineering role.
• AWS CWI certification is mandatory.
• Knowledge of welding procedures and qualification requirements (WPS, PQR, WQT).
• Familiarity with ASME, AWS, ISO, SEMI, and project/customer welding requirements.
• Experience with GTAW/TIG, orbital welding, and stainless-steel fabrication preferred.
• Able to read technical drawings and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and control welding procedures and qualification records.
• Manage welding parameters, materials, consumables, and process requirements.
• Monitor fabrication work to ensure welding aligns with approved procedures.
• Oversee welder qualification and maintain certification records.
• Perform visual weld examinations and assist with inspections and NDT.
• Maintain weld traceability documents, weld maps, and inspection reports.
• Identify welding non-conformities and drive corrective actions.
• Support improvements to welding methods, quality, efficiency, and production.

• Support improvements to welding methods, quality, efficiency, and production performance.
• Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and relevant certification authorities when required.
