Job summary

UHP Gas Sys Technology Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia seeks an experienced Welding Engineer with AWS CWI to oversee welding processes, ensure compliance with codes, and support quality, inspection, and continuous improvement across fabrication operations.

You will develop WPS/PQR/WQT, select processes, supervise welds, perform WQT, inspect, maintain documentation, investigate defects, and coordinate with customers and certification bodies.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Welding, or related engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of welding engineering or fabrication experience.
• AWS CWI certification is required.
• Experience in GTAW/TIG and stainless-steel fabrication preferred.
• Ability to interpret drawings and welding symbols.
• Understanding of welding inspection and NDT requirements.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain WPS, PQR, and WQT documentation.
• Select appropriate welding processes, consumables, and parameters.
• Supervise welding activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
• Conduct Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) and maintain qualification records.
• Perform visual weld inspections and support quality inspections.
• Maintain welding documentation, including weld maps and inspection reports.
• Investigate welding defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Optimize welding processes to improve quality and productivity.
• Coordinate with customers, inspectors, and certification bodies as required.
