Job summary

ELTA Fans Malaysia Sdn Bhd, based in Shah Alam, is seeking a skilled MIG Welder with a focus on sheet metal welding and precision. You will read engineering drawings and perform welds to strict quality standards.

We require 2+ years of MIG welding experience; AWS 3G certification is desirable. Proficiency in dye penetrant testing and ability to work overtime are valued for joining Elta Group's regional manufacturing operations in Asia.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a sheet metal welder.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Desirable to have AWS 3G certification and dye penetrant testing qualifications.
• Proficient in using welding equipment with safety adherence.
• Physically fit to lift heavy materials and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks with precision following quality and safety standards.
• Weld sheet metal components using MIG techniques; TIG/rod a plus.
• Fit parts per drawings and fabrication worksheets.
• Inspect welds using dye penetrant results and make repairs as needed.
• Control welding and fitting to avoid overheating, distortion, or expansion.
• Participate in Kaizen activities and assist grinding or other processes when needed.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

We are a Ventilation and Control equipment manufacturer and distributor based in Shah Alam, Selangor. Our company is a fully owned subsidiary of the UK-based Elta Group. We serve regional markets in Asia.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MIG Welder to join our team. This role demands intermediate understanding of welding processes and techniques with high precision and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Main responsibilities:

1. Perform welding tasks with precision and in accordance with quality and safety standard.

2. Perform welding operations on sheet metal components using MIG welding techniques. (Experience in TIG & rod welding will be an added advantage).

3. Perform fitting works based on engineering drawings attached to fabrication worksheet.

4. Inspect completed welds for quality and adherence to specifications. Use dye penetrant testing results to evaluate weld integrity and make necessary adjustments or repairs.

5. Control the process of fitting, and welding to avoid problem in relation to overheat, distortion, expansion or shrink of the welding parts.

6. Getting involves in Kaizen activities, perform grinding works or any other manufacturing processes may be required if not much welding works needs to be carried out.

7. Any other reasonable duties which may be required by superior from time to time.

Job requirements:

To perform well in this role, you are expected to fulfil all requirements listed below.

1. Proven experience as a 3G Welder or similar role with expertise in vertical up & horizontal welding.

2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a sheet metal welder.

3. Able to read and interpret technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine weld requirements and execute welds accordingly.

4. Relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS 3G certification) is highly desirable. Having dye penetrant testing certifications (e.g., ASNT Level I or II) will be an added advantage.

5. Proficiency in using welding equipment and tools.

6. Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and willingness to work overtime.

8. Able to present and articulate ideas is much appreciated.

Preferably Male aged to 18 to 40 years.
