Job summary

Kawan Food Berhad in Selangor is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support weighing, inventory control and manufacturing operations in a fast-paced setting. You will handle material receipt, labeling, ERP/WMS data entry and ensure traceability of all weighed materials.

Responsibilities include complying with FEFO/FIFO principles, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and supporting cycle counts and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent; Certificate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse Management is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Familiar with ERP/WMS systems and barcode scanning.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook and ERP data entry).
• Understanding of FEFO/FIFO inventory principles.
• Forklift driving license is an added advantage.
• Willing to work overtime, shifts and weekends/public holidays when required.
• Proficient in Bahasa Melayu and English.

Job description

Receive approved weighing requests based on the daily production schedule.

Pick the correct raw materials according to approved formulations and production requisitions.

Verify material item code, batch number, expiry date and material status before weighing.

Ensure accurate weighing of raw materials using calibrated weighing equipment.

Ensure weighed quantities comply with production formulas and approved tolerances.

Label weighed materials with item details, batch number, quantity, production order and traceability information.

Stage weighed materials for timely delivery to production according to the production schedule.

Record all weighing and inventory transactions accurately in the ERP system.

Return unused materials to the warehouse following approved procedures and FEFO requirements.

Maintain accurate weighing records and ensure complete material traceability.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the weighing room, equipment and utensils according to GMP and food safety requirements.

Prevent cross-contamination through proper cleaning, segregation and allergen control practices.

Verify calibration status of weighing scales before use and report any abnormalities immediately.

Ensure weighing equipment and workstations are clean, organized and ready for operation.

Support cycle counts, stock counts and inventory verification activities.

Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, quality concerns and safety hazards promptly.

Comply with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000/BRCGS, food defense and company SOP requirements.

Practice safe material handling and comply with all warehouse safety procedures.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve weighing accuracy, productivity and operational efficiency.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Weighing Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor or Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum SPM or equivalent; Certificate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse Management is an advantage.

Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in FMCG or food manufacturing.

Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and material handling.

Familiar with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., NetSuite) and barcode scanning.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook and ERP data entry).

Understanding of FEFO/FIFO inventory principles.

Basic knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety requirements.

Forklift driving license is an added advantage.

Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.

Willing to work overtime, shifts and weekends/public holidays when required.

Honest, responsible, disciplined and detail-oriented.

Good counting and mathematical skills.

Proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and English.

Able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
