Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a friendly restaurant service team member to deliver memorable guest experiences. You will greet guests, take beverage and food orders, upsell where appropriate, and help maintain a spotless dining area.

You will be responsible for supporting kitchen and outlets, keeping supplies stocked, following safety procedures, and upholding hotel standards in grooming and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Strong physical stamina for lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Good reading, writing and basic maths.
• Flexible schedule including night, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Compliant with local food handling and alcohol service laws.

Your Day To Day

• Own your kitchen – keep on top of supplies and equipment, and minimise waste.
• Tell your supervisor or duty manager about any unsafe equipment, low supplies or safety incidents.
• Help create a safe space by following our safety procedures and wearing necessary protective equipment.
• Be cleaner than clean – meet or exceed local cleanliness and hygiene laws.
• Help with washing up restaurant’s operating equipment when needed.
• Give guests a better experience by helping with any queries or advice.
• Wear your uniform with pride and grooming as per hotel standard.
• Take on other ad-hoc duties when the whole team needs to pull together.
• Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled.
• Beverages are upsold and regularly replenished, abiding by responsible alcohol service regulations.
• Able to assist other outlets whenever required.

What We Need From You

• Strong – sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling.
• Literate – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths.
