INFLUENCE ENGINE SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced video editing director to review edits, set direction for our in-house editors and guide revisions through to final delivery.
You will assess storytelling, pacing, shot selection, music, subtitles and color, and provide editors with concrete, actionable feedback while also editing when needed. This internal creative direction and quality-control role works closely with production and marketing teams, leveraging CapCut and AI tools
Your main responsibility is to review edits, set the direction for each video and guide our in-house editors through revisions. You should be able to identify what is not working, explain why, and give clear instructions on how to improve it. You must also be able to edit or rework videos yourself when needed.
有指导或带领剪辑师的经验者优先;我们更重视实际能力、作品质量及审片判断力。
Responsibilities
Review rough cuts and final edits to ensure they meet the client brief, marketing objectives and our quality standards.
Assess storytelling, structure, pacing, shot selection, music, sound, subtitles, colour and overall visual quality.
Give editors specific, actionable feedback: what needs to change, why it matters and how to improve it.
Set the editing direction for projects and guide revisions through to final delivery.
Assign editing work, set priorities and follow up on deadlines.
Edit or rework videos personally when a project requires it.
Use suitable AI tools to support ideation, footage organisation, subtitles, audio, visuals or editing workflows, while checking the accuracy and quality of the output.
Help establish consistent editing, review and AI-assisted workflow standards within the team.
This is primarily an internal creative direction and quality-control role, working closely with our production and marketing teams.
At least 3 years of professional video editing experience. Candidates with 3–5+ years of experience producing marketing videos, commercials or branded content are preferred.
A strong portfolio that demonstrates storytelling, pacing and visual judgment—not just effects and transitions.
The ability to assess whether a video is ready for delivery and give other editors clear, practical revision instructions.
Proficiency in Capcut or other professional editing software.
Open to using and learning AI tools, with the ability to work alongside AI to improve production efficiency, creative output and your own skills. You should also be able to judge and refine AI-generated results.
A good understanding of short-form video, audience attention, brand tone and marketing objectives.
The ability to oversee multiple projects and maintain consistent quality under deadlines.
Experience guiding or leading editors is an advantage. We place the greatest weight on your actual work, editing ability and review judgment.
