Job summary

Mondelēz International in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Utilities Engineer to design, install, and maintain utility systems across electrical, water, gas, HVAC and waste management.

You will monitor performance, analyze data, develop maintenance schedules, manage projects, and ensure compliance with EH&S standards, working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting. This role requires 3+ years of experience and a degree in a related engineering field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in utilities/engineering-related field.
• Typical 3+ years of utilities engineering/operations/management experience.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems: water, electricity, gas, HVAC, waste management.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA codes and safety requirements.
• Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across departments.
• Project management experience including cost estimation, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Professional certifications (LEED, PMP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain utility systems (electrical, water, gas, HVAC, waste).
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot utility systems for efficiency and reliability.
• Analyze system data to identify improvements and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for continuous operation.
• Manage utility-related projects from planning to testing and upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper system integration.
• Prepare technical documentation and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and uphold EH&S standards.
• Respond to emergencies and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Stay updated on industry practices and regulatory changes.
