Job summary

Technip Energies is seeking a Senior Telecom Engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a fixed term contract, with potential progression to Lead Engineer. You will contribute to high-quality telecom design for onshore and offshore projects, lead engineers, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires at least 10 years of telecom design experience, a Bachelor in Telecommunication/Electronic Engineering, and ideally PE registration. Willingness to travel and work at client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Telecommunication/Electronic Engineering accredited by Board of Engineer Malaysia or approved equivalent.
• Senior: at least 10 years of telecommunication design experience for onshore/offshore applications.
• Lead: at least 12 years of post-graduate experience in similar telecommunication design.
• Preferably registered Professional Engineer (PE) with local board or approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Be overall responsible for the quality of the work produced.
• Lead project teams and advise manpower and skill levels for smooth execution.
• Assign work to the project team and liaise with departments, clients and vendors.
• Ensure timely approvals and documentation, and manage change orders and claims.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineering employees.

We are currently seeking a Senior Telecom Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur. Successful candidates will be offered Fixed Term Contract.

About us:

• Assist the HOD in ensuring good quality design outputs, as per the relevant procedures.
• Produce the agreed deliverables as per the project requirement and schedules in a cost-effective manner.
• Provide manhour and material cost estimates for proposals.
• Develop other more junior personnel’s skill by providing on the job training and appraising their performance.
• Provide advice and check work in his fields of expertise when required.
• When assigned as a Lead Engineer on a project, the additional responsibilities are:
• Advise the HOD the manpower and skill levels required, to ensure smooth execution of the project.
• Assign work to the project team appropriately.
• Liaise with other departments, clients and third parties as required by the project.
• Be overall responsible for the quality of the work produced.
• Ensures timely approval of engineering and requisitioning documents from the client as well as timely technical and economical definition of change orders and claims.
• Prepare updates and review specifications and calculations for detailed engineering.
• Contributes to optimization of material quantities by proposing value engineering solutions.
• Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by the Vendors
• Adheres to the committed man/hours and budget.
• Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities to the Lead.
• Meets quality objectives of the project.
• Possesses good technical knowhow and well verse with design Codes and Standards
• Interfaces with other disciplines and project support functions such as procurement and planning.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior engineering employees

About You

• The Candidate shall possess a Bachelor degree in Telecommunication/Electronic Engineering accredited by Board of Engineer Malaysia or approved equivalent.
• For Senior engineer, Possess at least minimum 10 years of Telecommunication engineering design experiences in onshore / offshore application.
• For Lead Engineer, Possess at least minimum 12 years of post-graduate experience in similar Telecommunication engineering design experiences for onshore / offshore application.
• Preferably registered Professional Engineer (PE) with local board or approved equivalent.

Be willing to travel and stationed at various Engineering Operating Centers / Client Office on needs basis (for overseas assignment)

• Site or experience with OEM (1 to 2 years)
• Exhibit and maintain good relationship with Client / Peers / Equipment Vendor & suppliers.
• Good Professional Check (feedback) from past Employers / Clients.
