Job summary

Jora Malaysia is hiring a Translator/Interpreter to translate documents and provide interpretation between Mandarin Chinese, English and Bahasa Malaysia. You will help maintain accurate communications and confidentiality while supporting HR, admin, operations and production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will bridge language gaps among employees, attend meetings, and prepare bilingual communications. Immediate start is preferred in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Mandarin Chinese, English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Strong translation and interpretation skills with accuracy and cultural nuance.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate written documents, reports, notices and manuals between Chinese, English and Malay.
• Provide interpretation support during meetings, trainings, and briefings.
• Act as a bridge between Chinese-speaking employees and local staff to improve coordination.
• Support HR, Admin, Operations, Production and other departments with translation needs.

1. Translate written documents, reports, notices, manuals, correspondence, and other materials from Chinese to English and Malay, and vice versa.
2. Ensure all translations are accurate, clear, culturally appropriate, and maintain the original meaning and intent.
3. Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
4. Provide interpretation support during meetings, discussions, training sessions, interviews, and workplace briefings.
5. Act as a communication bridge between Chinese-speaking employees and local Malaysian employees to overcome language barriers and improve workplace coordination.
6. Assist management and departments in communicating company policies, procedures, instructions, and operational matters to employees.
7. Coordinate and facilitate communication between contractors, suppliers, service providers, and relevant internal departments to ensure smooth project and operational execution.
8. Support HR, Administration, Operations, Production, and other departments with translation and communication-related requirements.
9. Assist in preparing bilingual documents, announcements, presentations, and reports when required.
10. Promote effective cross-cultural communication and foster a positive working environment among employees of different nationalities.
11. Perform other translation, interpretation and administrative duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Proficient in Mandarin Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
2. Strong translation and interpretation skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
5. Able to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
7. Prior experience in translation, administration, HR, manufacturing, construction, or project coordination will be an added advantage.
8. Able to work in a manufacturing plant environment and adapt to hot working conditions.
9. Candidates who can start work immediately will have an added advantage.
