Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Malaysia is seeking a Project Manager to lead transformer project deliveries from order handover through completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and compliant results across contractual, quality, and safety requirements.

The ideal candidate has transformer industry experience and strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and commercial awareness to coordinate with customers, factories, engineering teams, suppliers, and internal partners to drive project success

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Project Management or Business.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in power, electrical, energy or industrial sectors.
• Experience in transformers strongly preferred, including power transformers, distribution transformers, transformer services or related projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing customer-facing projects from initiation through completion.
• Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, budgeting and risk management.
• Knowledge of contractual and commercial aspects of project execution.
• Experience with SAP or ERP platforms is an advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of transformer projects across the project lifecycle.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, risks and deliverables.
• Act as the primary customer interface for all project-related activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, quality and site teams.
• Monitor project financial performance including cost control, revenue recognition, cash flow, invoicing and profitability.
• Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation planning and issue resolution.
• Manage contractual obligations, variations, claims and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy policies, project governance, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Provide regular project updates and reporting to customers and management.
• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and support continuous process improvement.
