Bank of China (M) Berhad in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee Bank Guarantee operations, ensuring accurate processing and timely turnaround in line with policies and regulatory requirements. You will provide operational support for other trade products and lead a team to sustain critical service delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Finance/Business/Management, with 5-8 years banking experience, and fluent English and Chinese.

Competenze

• Degree holder with major in Finance, Business, Management or related disciplines.
• 5-8 years of working experience, preferably in banking.
• Exposure in Bank Guarantee operations is an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese is preferred.

• Oversee and perform checking/processing of Bank Guarantee transactions (issuance, amendment, extension, cancellation, claims).
• Ensure transactions are processed accurately within required turnaround time per procedures.
• Check supporting documents and BG format to ensure approvals and requirements are in place.
• Handle operational queries and resolve transaction-related issues with relevant departments.
• Monitor outstanding guarantees and related operational matters per bank procedures.
• Ensure proper checks and controls to minimize errors and risks.
• Identify operational issues and suggest improvements to processes.
• Participate in system enhancements, testing and other improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and guide team members in handling daily transactions and operations.
• Ensure all required reports are completed and submitted on time.
• Provide operational support for other trade products as needed.
• Assist in reviewing/updating procedures to reflect changes in products, systems and regulations.
• Coordinate with parties to resolve operational issues and outstanding transactions.
• Assist to direct and control overall operational and administrative activities of Trade Finance.
• Assist to maximize trade bills utilization and profitability through appropriate strategies.

To oversee and manage daily Bank Guarantee Operations, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within the required turnaround time in accordance with the Bank’s policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. To provide operational support for other Trade Products when required to ensure smooth daily operations and effective manpower utilization.

Key Responsibilities

1) Oversee and perform checking/processing of Bank Guarantee transactions including issuance, amendment, extension, cancellation and claims, where applicable.

2) Ensure transaction are processed accurately and within the required turnaround time, in accordance with approved procedures and guidelines.

3) Check supporting documents and BG format to ensure necessary approvals and requirements are in place before processing transactions.

4) Handle operational queries and resolve transaction related issues with relevant departments.

5) Monitor outstanding guarantees and related operational matters in accordance with Bank’s procedures.

6) Ensure proper checking and controls are in place to minimize operational errors and risks.

7) Identity operational issues and suggest improvement to existing processes and processes.

8) Participate in system enhancement, system testing and other operational improvement initiatives when required.

9) Supervise and guide team members in handling daily transactions and operational matters.

10) Ensure all required reports are completed and submitted on time.

11) Provide operational support for other trade products and undertake related duties as assigned when necessary in accordance with operational needs and workload requirements.

12) Assist in reviewing and updating operational, procedures to reflect changes in products, systems, internal and regulatory requirements.

13) Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve operational issues and outstanding transactions.

14) Assist to direct and control the overall operational and administrative activities of the Trade Finance to ensure achievement of business goals as well as to implement and sustain top quality service which is delightfully meeting the needs and expectation of customers/service standard requirements.

15) Assist to maximize the level of trade bills utilization and profitability in all Trade Finance products through implementation of appropriate marketing strategy, development of customer base, review and monitor the activities of the existing valued clientele base.

16) Assist to evaluate operational procedures and range of trade services offered at on-going basis to determine their adequacy and recommend changes as appropriate, coordinate with various parties and implement approved plans thereof.

17) Keep abreast of the provision and changes in the Statutory requirements, Head Office Policies and Bank Negara Malaysia's Guidelines to ensure due compliance in all aspects of human resources and administration.

18) Adheres and ensures that the policies, procedures and guidelines listed in the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Operations Manual as well as all other operating policies/procedures and regulatory rules are complied at all times.

19) Perform any other functions assigned by Management from time to time.

Requirements
