Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Penang, Malaysia seeks a diploma-qualified engineer to oversee WIP, optimize throughput, and deploy workforce for productivity in a high-tech fab. You will engage specialists for feedback and coordinate with Engineering to address capacity and equipment issues.

This role requires hands-on problem solving, adherence to EHSS, and documentation integrity. A rotating 12-hour shift is part of the job, with a focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Microelectronics, Chemical Process Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or other relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are expected.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and support overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Optimize WIP management to maximize throughput and linearity.
• Allocate and deploy workforce effectively for optimum productivity.
• Engage specialists regularly to obtain performance feedback and identify improvement areas.
• Identify potential human error issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Resolve line-related, preventive maintenance issues and understand equipment capacity/constraints for temporary solutions.
• Ensure safety, discipline, and housekeeping compliance in the work area.
• Comply with EHSS policies and maintain data integrity.

Your Job

• Optimize WIP (Work in progress) management to maximize throughput and linearity.
• Allocate and deploy workforce effectively for optimum productivity.
• Engage specialists regularly to give feedback on performance as well as understand difficulties faced & identify potential areas for improvement.
• Identify potential human error issues in the fab and work on corrective/preventive actions.
• Resolve and handle line-related, preventive maintenance issues and understand all equipment capacity/constraint issues to identify, implement temporary solutions and work with Engineering team to resolve them.
• Ensure safety, discipline, and housekeeping compliance in work area by all personnel.
• Comply with environmental, health, safety and security (EHSS) system, policies, procedures and guidelines that are applicable to your scope of work and workplace.
• Ensure proper documentation and data integrity.

Required Qualifications
