Job summary

Asia Baru Construction Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Traffic Management Officer to develop and implement TMP and CTMCP plans on construction sites in Malaysia.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, plus a valid CTMO certificate recognized by CIDB, and 2–10 years

Job description

A Traffic Management Officer (TMO) develops and implements Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Construction Traffic Management Control Plans (CTMCP), liaising with local authorities to obtain necessary approvals and permits. The role involves supervising traffic control devices, coordinating traffic controllers, monitoring traffic flow and site conditions, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Construction Traffic Management Control Plans (CTMCP)

Liaise with local authorities (e.g., JKR, LLM, local councils) to obtain necessary approvals and permits

Supervise the placement, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices (signs, cones, barriers)

Coordinate traffic controllers and ensure compliance with the approved TMP

Monitor traffic flow and site conditions to identify hazards

Ensure all activities comply with relevant Acts (e.g., Road Transport Act 333, OSHA 1994) and guidelines

Prepare traffic management reports (e.g., Traffic Management Safety Report)

Maintain inspection records and document incidents or changes

Respond to traffic-related incidents or emergencies on-site and implement the Emergency Response Plan (ERP)

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Valid Construction Traffic Management Officer (CTMO) certificate recognized by CIDB

2 to 10 years of relevant experience in road construction, infrastructure, or traffic management
