Job summary

MYFutureJobs assists a plastic manufacturing facility in Nilai to recruit a Tooling Technician to support its production and tooling operations. The role covers preventive maintenance, mould installation, changeover, setting and adjustment to ensure tooling performance meets production needs.

You will work with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams, inspect moulds, troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime, and maintain records of tooling condition.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of tooling or mould maintenance experience.
• Experience in plastic injection moulding or blow moulding is advantageous.
• Able to read technical/engineering drawings.
• Hands-on with workshop/machining equipment (milling, lathe, grinding).
• Experience in mould changeover, setting and adjustment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, servicing and repair of injection and blow moulds according to schedules.

We are currently assisting an established plastic manufacturing company in Nilai to recruit a Tooling Technician to support its production and tooling operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, servicing and repair of injection moulds and blow moulds according to maintenance schedules.
• Carry out mould installation, mould changeover, setting and adjustment based on production requirements.
• Inspect moulds before and after production to ensure proper functionality and product quality.
• Troubleshoot mould and tooling issues to minimise machine downtime.
• Perform necessary repairs, fitting and adjustments on moulds and tooling components.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve mould-related issues.
• Maintain proper records of tooling condition, maintenance activities and repairs carried out.
• Ensure tooling, moulds and related equipment are stored and maintained properly.
• Support continuous improvement activities to improve tooling performance, productivity and efficiency.
• Comply with company safety procedures and operational requirements.

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, Manufacturing, Machining or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in tooling, mould maintenance or a related technical environment.
• Experience in plastic injection moulding and/or blow moulding will be highly advantageous.
• Good knowledge of mould/tooling components and maintenance practices.
• Able to read and understand technical / engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with workshop or machining equipment such as milling, lathe, grinding or related machinery.
• Experience in mould changeover, setting and adjustment is preferred.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work on a 2‑shift rotation and respond to equipment breakdowns when required.

Candidates with experience as a Tooling Technician, Mould Technician, Tool & Die Technician, Toolroom Technician, Mould Setter, Die Maker, Machinist or Injection/Blow Moulding Technician are encouraged to apply.
