Job summary

Mattel (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Tooling Engineer to lead mold maintenance, design and development of precision tooling, and drive continuous improvement across injection molding and die casting operations. You will coordinate with Product Design, Process Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure uptime, product quality, and cost efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Tooling Engineering and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with hands-on

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering related to tooling, with hands-on mold maintenance experience.
Experience in plastic injection molding and die casting environments.
Strong knowledge of tooling materials, coatings and maintenance methodologies.
Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma and RCA tools to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

Lead preventive and corrective mold maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
Design, develop, and review complex molds and tooling systems for new products and enhancements.
Coach and mentor tool makers and cross-functional teams.
Apply DFM, FMEA and process capability analyses throughout projects.
Drive improvements to reduce downtime, extend mold life and improve OEE.
Coordinate mold qualification, trials, validation, and ramp-up activities.
