Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced tooling design engineer to develop injection molds for high‑volume production. You will define gating, cooling, and materials, review mold flow data, and ensure targets are met.

The role involves supporting mold trials, NPI efforts, and collaborating with toolmakers while mentoring junior engineers to drive best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
Minimum 3 years in tooling design and manufacturing.
Strong experience in injection molding and high-volume production.
Familiar with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Experience with Moldflow / Moldex3D.
Skilled in CAD software: Creo, NX, SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

Design and develop injection molds (multi-cavity, hot runner, 3-plate molds).
Define gating, cooling, venting, and material selection.
Review mold flow analyses and improve tooling performance.
Ensure tooling meets production capacity and cycle time targets.
Support mold trials (T0, T1, T2) and NPI for new tooling.
Guide and mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate with toolmakers and suppliers to meet quality targets.
Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone.
