Job summary

Laser Industries Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a skilled toolmaker to design and fabricate tooling, service and maintain production tooling.

You will interpret drawings, plan and supervise tool fabrication, assist machining teams, and provide training while ensuring proper records and housekeeping. The role requires at least 3 years experience in tooling, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Qualifications

• At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Preferably specialized in tooling or equivalent.
• Self-motivated, assertive and results driven with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Possess strong analytical / logic and problem-solving skill

Responsibilities

• Tool design and fabrication.
• Planning, supervise and monitor the tool fabrication process.
• Troubleshooting and solving of tooling problem.
• Machining - assist tooling supervisor arrange and distribute machining work to machinist and apprentice.
• Provide service and repair for tooling.
• Carry out tooling maintenance.
• Maximise manpower utilisation to meet quality and productivity objective.
• Provide training to machinist and any staff whenever required on knowledge of tooling.

Responsible for design, fabrication, service, repair and maintenance of production tooling
requirements.

Tool Design and Fabrication.
- Understanding drawings and tool requirements and translate them into tool desing using
advances techniques.
- Planning, supervise and monitor the tool fabrication process.
- Troubleshooting and solving of tooling problem.

Machining
- Assist tooling supervisor arrange and distribute machining work to machinist and apprentice

Maintenance and Repair
- Provide service and repair for tooling
- Carry out tooling maintenance

Manpower Management
- Maximise manpower utilisation to meet quality and productivity objective

Training
- Provide training to machinist and any staff whenever required on knowledge of tooling

Records, Paperworks and System
- Assist tooling supervisor and engineer in setting up documentation and recording

Ensure good housekeeping of work area

Accomplish task assigned by superior.

Requirements:

At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
