Job summary

Coherent in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a dedicated Test Engineering Specialist to oversee the test maintenance area, coordinate tester build activities, and drive yield improvements. This role emphasizes quality, safety, and continual process enhancement across the test floor.

You will partner with Product Engineering, manage projects to schedule, and ensure compliance with ISO standards while delivering reliable equipment performance and meeting customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Test Maintenance & Engineering Management: Manage the test maintenance area to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with the company's Quality Policy.
• Tester Build Plan Execution: Plan, coordinate, and ensure the timely execution of tester build activities in accordance with project schedules and operational requirements.
• Yield & Process Improvement: Collaborate with Product Engineering to drive test yield improvement, process optimization, and technical enhancements within the assigned technical area.
• Test Area Efficiency: Identify and implement improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, equipment utilization, and overall test area efficiency.
• Technical Project Management: Drive technical projects and assigned tasks to completion within established timelines and project requirements.
• Test Yield & Testability Enhancement: Support and implement test yield and testability improvement projects across all products.
• Quality & Safety Compliance: Exercise the authority to stop any tester operation when quality or safety issues are identified, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken before resuming operations.
• Continual Improvement: Drive continual improvement initiatives to enhance processes, equipment performance, quality, and operational effectiveness.
• Risk-Based Thinking: Apply risk-based thinking in task planning and execution to identify potential risks, prevent issues, and ensure effective mitigation.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, company policies, rules and regulations, applicable codes, and relevant quality and safety standards.
• Customer Satisfaction: Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and work proactively to meet or exceed customer expectations in accordance with the company's Quality Policy.
• Other Duties: Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
