Job summary

COHERENT is seeking a part-time tester/equipment maintenance specialist in Malaysia (Penang) to minimize downtime, perform periodic tester verifications, and drive improvements in setup ergonomics and efficiency. The role requires at least 1 year of equipment maintenance/testing experience and a Diploma in Electrical/Electronics or related field.

You will ensure safety, quality and ISO compliance while supporting yield improvements and risk-based planning.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering or relevant.
• At least 1 year of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tester operation minimizes test equipment downtime.
• Responsible for the periodic DV of testers.
• Improve test setup ergonomics and efficiency through elimination, simplification, integration and automation.
• Support test yield and testability improvements; reduce rejections and improve tester performance.
• Ensure compliance to Safety, ESD, Cleanroom and Housekeeping guidelines.
• SPC monitoring of tester performance.
• Apply risk-based thinking in planning and execution of tasks.
• Authorized to stop any tester facing quality or safety issues.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Drive continual improvement and practice risk-based thinking.
• Think ahead in planning and execution of tasks.
• Comply with ISO requirements, company rules, and applicable codes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Support test yield and testability enhancement project for all products. Elimination, minimizing over rejection on tester, improve performance of tester, etc.

• Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of task.
• Authorized to stop any tester if the tester facing quality or safety issue.
• Performing any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time.

Authorities:

Job Requirements:

Education: Diploma of in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering or relevant.

Experience: At least 1 year of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience. Candidates without appropriate experience may be accepted by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc.

Special Skills:

• With good computer literacy, good communication skill.
• Experience in testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debug or verification.
