Job summary

GES Manufacturing Services (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned Test Engineering Lead to manage a team of Test Staff and oversee all test activities. You will train technicians, guide junior engineers and ensure minimal downtime of test equipment while aligning with customer requirements.

You will contribute to KPIs, plan budgets, and ensure proper lifecycle management of test assets, including obsolescence disposal and capacity planning. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• 5-7+ years of experience in Test Engineering and Test Development in PCA and Box-Build environments.
• Experience with PCBA Functional Test, LabVIEW, ATE automation and In-Circuit Testing.

Job description

Ensure and be responsible for customer account models under your care in terms of Test Engineering aspects and support. Train and guide technicians and junior engineers. Support production operations and ensure minimum or zero downtime and stoppage of test equipment and testers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to workplace safety and health improvement for employees and environmental protection by adhering to company Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Contribute to Test KPIs (Test Yield, Downtime, Debug Bone pile and Aging)
• Manage the operation of a group of Test Staff
• Plan and review test department budget
• Dispose or return non-active, End of Life or obsolete test equipment
• Plan and ensure sufficient test equipment and capacity
• Review test programs and approve test procedures ensuring compliance to customer requirements
• Liaise with customers for all new equipment requirements and support
• Stop test line when test yield falls below target and problems cannot be resolved
• Ensure all workers under supervision have obtained necessary training

About you

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and related technical focus
• 5-7+ years of experience in progressively more responsible Test Engineering and Test Development in both PCA and Box-Build Manufacturing environments
• PCBA Functional Test and ATE experience (fixturing, LabVIEW, ATE automation etc.) and In-Circuit Testing
• Project and Product management experience
• Strong analytical, technical writing, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Good understanding of electronics/power electronics circuitry and simple electronic hardware design
