Celestica is seeking a senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the development and deployment of full-lifecycle test methodologies across ICT, MDA, FCT, ESS and system validation in a Malaysia-based facility.
You will partner with customer engineering during NPI to enforce DFT/DFM, oversee automated test equipment and MES data logging, and drive root-cause analysis with Quality and Manufacturing teams to achieve 100% fault coverage.
Define and deploy full-lifecycle test methodologies—including In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Manufacturing Defect Analysis (MDA), Board Functional Testing (FCT), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), and system/rack-level validation.
Partner with customer engineering teams during New Product Introduction (NPI) to drive DFT and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) requirements before mass production.
Oversee the development and integration of automated test equipment (ATE), custom test fixtures, test scripts (Python, LabVIEW, C/C++), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) data logging.
Monitor line performance, investigate test escapes or retest spikes, and lead root-cause analysis (8D, CAPA) alongside Quality and Manufacturing teams.
Optimize test station takt times and cycle times to meet factory throughput needs while maintaining 100% fault coverage.
Oversee preventive maintenance, calibration schedules, and downtime tracking (MTBF/MTTR) for all test fixtures and ATE platforms.
As the primary escalation point for customer engineering teams regarding test coverage, yield reports, and platform transfers.
Evaluate customer test specifications against manufacturing constraints; manage scope creep and negotiate practical test coverage trade-offs.
Hire, train, and manage a team of test engineers and floor technicians across production shifts.
Manage department budgets, forecast test fixture expenses, and handle asset utilization for test hardware and software licensing.
Prepare and support the ISO, AS9100 and Nadcap annual audit.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in manufacturing test engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a technical leadership or management role (EMS/Contract Manufacturing environment strongly preferred).
