Job summary

Tentacle Tech in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Junior Test Engineer (Manual/UAT) for a hybrid role to ensure banking apps perform accurately. Join an immediate-start replacement project requiring 1–3 years of testing experience in FinTech or financial services.

Responsibilities include designing test cases, logging defects, and collaborating with business and tech teams to meet budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of software testing experience, preferably in banking/FinTech/payments
• Hands-on Manual Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience
• Exposure to banking functions such as payments, DuitNow, GIRO, cards, loans, fraud management or digital banking
• Experience preparing test scenarios, test cases, test scripts and test data
• Proficiency logging and tracking defects using Jira, HP ALM or similar tools, with a solid grasp of defect lifecycle, severity, priority and regression testing
• Good understanding of SDLC, STLC and release testing activities
• Strong communication skills for working with business users, developers, vendors and testing teams

Job description

As a Junior Test Engineer (Manual / UAT) on a hybrid arrangement in Kuala Lumpur, you will help ensure banking applications perform accurately and reliably, validating payments, fund transfers and customer transactions across web and mobile platforms. This is an immediate-start replacement role for candidates who can join within 2 weeks.

Key responsibilities

Review business requirements and functional specifications to understand expected banking processes and system behaviour

Prepare and execute functional, UAT, regression and end-to-end test cases

Validate banking transactions such as payments, fund transfers, bill payments and customer transactions

Log defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected and actual results, screenshots and severity, then track them through to resolution and retesting

About you
