We are currently seeking a dedicated and results-driven Terminal Production Supervisor to join our high-performing team in Johor Bahru. Reporting to the Terminal Operations Manager, this role is fully responsible for overseeing the daily production operations of the terminal, optimizing operational workflows, and leading the production team to achieve efficiency and safety targets. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s business expansion and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective operation of terminal cargo handling and yard management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily terminal production operations, including cargo loading and unloading, yard stacking, vessel berthing coordination, and intermodal transportation connection, to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Implement and strictly enforce terminal safety regulations and operational standards; conduct regular on-site safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take timely corrective measures to minimize operational risks.
- Be responsible for the supervision, guidance, and performance evaluation of the production team; arrange work shifts reasonably, and enhance the overall operational capability and safety awareness of the team.
- Collaborate with internal departments (such as the General Department, Marketing Department, etc.) and external partners (including shipping companies, freight forwarders, customs, etc.) to resolve operational bottlenecks and ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
- Monitor key production indicators (such as cargo handling efficiency, vessel turnaround time, operation error rate, etc.) daily; collect and analyze operational data, compile detailed production reports, and submit them to the senior management team.
- Continuously optimize terminal production processes and operational standards, propose feasible improvement plans to enhance operational efficiency, reduce operating costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Undertake the overall management of the operation and deployment of terminal production equipment (such as cranes, forklifts, terminal tractors, etc.).
- Respond to and handle emergency situations (such as equipment failures, cargo damage, etc.) during terminal operations in a timely manner; formulate contingency plans and organize regular drills to improve emergency response capabilities.
Job Requirements
(1) Educational Background
College degree or above in Logistics Management, Port Operation, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
(2) Work Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in terminal production operations, familiar with cargo handling, yard management, or vessel coordination.
- Prior supervisory or team management experience in the port/terminal industry is highly preferred.
- Proficient in terminal operational workflows and cargo handling standards; familiar with the operating principles of terminal production equipment (such as cranes, forklifts, terminal tractors, etc.).
- Familiar with port safety regulations and industry operational standards; capable of accurately identifying potential safety hazards and formulating targeted preventive measures.
- Skilled in monitoring and analyzing key production indicators (such as cargo handling efficiency, vessel turnaround time, operation error rate, etc.); proficient in using basic data analysis tools.
- Possess excellent cross‑departmental coordination and communication skills, able to collaborate efficiently with internal teams and external partners (shipping companies, customs, freight forwarders, etc.).
(4) Personal Abilities & Qualities
- Excellent team management skills, able to effectively motivate team members, allocate work reasonably, and improve overall team operational efficiency.
- Strong adaptability, able to calmly respond to emergency situations (such as equipment failures, cargo damage, etc.) during terminal operations and activate contingency plans promptly.
- Meticulous, responsible, and capable of working under high pressure in a fast‑paced terminal operation environment.
Proficient in Mandarin, English, and Malaysian (spoken and written) to facilitate smooth communication with multi‑language teams and partners.
