Elsa Energy Sdn Bhd is seeking a Telecommunication Engineer for a 1-year contract to lead telecom activities on onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities. The role requires expertise in detailed design, calculations, and specifications in line with industry standards.

The candidate should have 5+ years in oil and gas telecom, including offshore topside experience, and be a registered Professional Engineer (BEM) or equivalent. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in oil & gas, with at least 3 years in a similar role.
• Experience in telecom engineering and design for onshore and offshore facilities.
• Experience in offshore topside facilities is required.
• Knowledge of telecom standards, design codes, specifications, and industry practices.
• Professional Engineer registered with BEM or equivalent.

Position : Telecommunication Engineer

Job Scope(s):

• Lead and execute telecommunication engineering activities for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Perform detailed engineering design, calculations, and preparation of technical specifications for telecommunication systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Develop and review engineering deliverables, including design documents, technical reports, equipment specifications, and installation requirements.
• Provide engineering support for telecommunication systems in offshore topside facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and relevant design codes.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of telecommunication systems with other facility systems.
• Review technical documentation, drawings, and vendor submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
• Support technical evaluations, design reviews, and resolution of engineering issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable industry standards, project specifications, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirement(s):

• Recognised Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 3 years in a similar role or capacity.
• Relevant experience in telecommunication engineering and design for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Experience in engineering and design of offshore topside facilities is required.
• Good knowledge of telecommunication engineering standards, design codes, specifications, and industry practices.
• Must be a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or an equivalent internationally recognised professional engineering institution.
