About the role
Southern Cable Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Technician (Production) to join our manufacturing operations team in Kuala Ketil, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production facilities and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining machinery and equipment on the production line, ensuring all output meets our rigorous quality standards and deadlines.

Key responsibilities

Operate production machinery and equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines

Monitor production processes and equipment performance, identifying and reporting any faults or anomalies

Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal functionality

Inspect finished products for quality defects and ensure compliance with specifications

Record production data, including output quantities, equipment downtime and any incidents

Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production targets

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and assist in troubleshooting technical issues

Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations on the production floor

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

What we\'re looking for

Proven experience as a machine operator or production technician in a manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of production machinery, equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy

Proficiency in using hand tools and mechanical equipment

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong health and safety awareness with a proactive approach to risk management

Reliable attendance record and punctuality

Basic computer literacy for recording and tracking production data

Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in machine operation or production are advantageous
