Job summary

MOD-LITE (M) SDN BHD is seeking a fiber optic technician to splice, terminate, and test optical cables on-site across various projects. You will operate OTDR and related test equipment, install splice cabinets, troubleshoot signal issues, and ensure optimal network performance.

The role requires SPM or a diploma in electronics/fiber optics, willingness to travel 1–2 weeks per project, and the ability to work overtime with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least SPM or Certificate / Diploma in electronics, fiber optic or telecommunication technology.
• Relevant working experience in the related field will be an added advantage.
• Possess own transportation.
• Willing to travel outstation for 1-2 weeks, for project in Johor Bahru, Kuantan, and other states.
• Willing to work on-site and overtime when necessary.
• Responsible, hardworking, and able to work independently.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Splicing and terminating fiber optic cable.
• Testing all fiber optic installations using OTDR, light meters and other related test equipment.
• Installing fiber optic splice cases and termination cabinets, terminating fibers using ST and SC type and other connectors; splice and terminate locations.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal problem.
• To ensure that the networking receive the optimum performance.
• Notify Project Manager of any problems, needs or concerns.
• Ensure compliance with policy and procedure requirements from service provider.
• Follow Company safety procedures and rules and properly plan for the safety of the works.
