Job summary

JAYA GROCER in Klang City is looking for a hands-on maintenance technician to respond to complaints and ensure smooth operations at the hostel facilities. The ideal candidate should have SKM certification and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Your responsibilities would include performing repairs and maintenance, monitoring systems, and training staff. Strong electrical knowledge and good communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu are essential. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to team executions.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• To respond and attend the complaint.
• To perform general maintenance and servicing for all facilities in the hostel.
• To understand the complaint according to the work order issued.
• To be responsible for any work order issued on a daily basis.
• To assist, the Executive controls the numbers of complaints.
• Ability to be independent on site.
• Able to prioritize and organize work assignments.
• Able to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgements.
• Able to focus attention on details, speed and accuracy in order of delivering task.
• Able to have good communication and impression between store managers & hostel’s occupants.
• To test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment in the hostel.
• To perform service and maintenance duties in the hostel with the highest degree of efficiency this contributes to savings in cost and resources.
• Available and always in standby mode for any emergencies or ad-hoc basis and act in engineering capacity to protect occupants and associates, and preserve the issues during the emergency.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive.
• To train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills.
• Able to solve any related task regarding the handyman & wireman (versatile).
• Well known in electrical matters such as Distribution Board, 3 phases, 1 phase, MCB, wiring etc.
• To monitor and update all services and maintenance via written records and e-maintenance report.
• High integrity, efficiency, good terms with superior, professional and advisable for better clarification and decision.
• To help executives to manage 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure services provided are completed in a timely and effective manner.
• Able and willing to travel the entire hostels in Klang Valley.

You should have

• Must have SKM 2 or 3 cert.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience.
• Has exposure to technical / engineering operations and contractor management.
• Has good industry and working knowledge of safety & security protocols, statutory regulations or any related local law.
• Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities simultaneously.
• Good communication skills with the ability to support business negotiations and comfortably deliver effective communications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu.
