Job summary

AEM Microtronics (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Technical Support Engineer (Software Engineering) in Penang to collaborate with engineering teams on NPD/NPI, DOE, FMEA, and prototype builds. You will provide installation support, troubleshoot issues, and lead training for internal staff and customers onsite.

The role emphasizes effective problem solving, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of servo, stepper motion control, industrial devices/sensors, machine control, PLC, and automation.
• Experience with troubleshooting, managing multiple projects, and proficiency in AEM platforms.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing leadership skills.
• Able to prepare and deliver product training to internal FSE and customers onsite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics background.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on NPD, NPI, DOE, FMEA, and prototype builds.
• Provide technical expertise and support for installation, issues, and training to internal teams and customers.
• Lead support efforts, manage escalations, and conduct training sessions.
• Set up and integrate tools at customer sites to optimize operations.
• Maintain documentation of troubleshooting activities and service events.
• Deliver product training to internal FSE and customers onsite.
• Foster relationships with product principals and relay customer feedback for improvements.
• Identify and report design, reliability, or maintenance issues to R&D and Product Planning.
