ETI SINGAPORE TECHNOLOGY GROUP PTE LTD in Malaysia is seeking a Technical Pre-Sales Senior Engineer/Manager to bridge clients and internal production. You will assess heavy stamping and precision CNC processes, and provide technical proposals for multi‑process parts with accurate cost modeling.
The role requires strong CAD/engineering analysis skills, hands-on experience with progressive dies and multi-axis CNC tooling, and the ability to guide DFMs and tooling decisions for optimal
The Technical Pre-Sales Senior Engineer/ Manager bridges the gap between clients and internal production facilities. This role evaluates complex engineering requirements, assesses manufacturing feasibility, and provides technical proposals for precision metal parts. The ideal candidate possesses comprehensive domain expertise in both heavy/high-speed metal stamping and precision CNC machining processes, ensuring accurate multi-process cost estimation and optimal Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidance.
Lead the technical review of incoming Requests for Quotes (RFQs), handling standalone metal stamping, standalone CNC machining, and complex hybrid assemblies.
Perform rigorous Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analyses to evaluate progressive/stage tooling demands, press tonnage requirements, and CNC milling/turning cycle efficiencies.
Collaborate closely with tooling engineers, machinists, and procurement to generate reliable cost models covering raw sheet/bar stock, progressive dies, CNC fixture requirements, cycle times, and secondary finishes.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact during commercial cycles, translating intricate production limitations or cost-saving design tweaks into actionable advice for client procurement and engineering teams.
Ensure successful operational handovers from sales to production by providing detailed technical briefs, finalized component drawings, and manufacturing router assumptions to the engineering teams.
Strong working knowledge of progressive dies, stage tools, press line capabilities, feed lines, and material behavior under high stress.
Proficient understanding of multi-axis CNC milling, turning, live-tooling lathes, cutting tool selections, speeds/feeds optimization, and cycle‑time factors.
Expert in reading advanced 2D layouts and navigating 3D CAD platforms (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo) with strict adherence to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Familiarity with essential finishes common to both metal domains, such as heat treatment, plating, anodizing, deburring, and welding.
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a highly equivalent industrial discipline.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands‑on technical sales, pre‑sales engineering, or manufacturing engineering experience within a hybrid metal‑forming and precision‑machining facility.
Proven track record of calculating combined tooling and cycle‑time costs under tight commercial submission deadlines.
Excellent professional communication skills to effortlessly switch between high‑level client presentations and granular technical floor discussions.
