Job summary

Seco is seeking a dynamic Technical Manager based in Subang Jaya to drive expertise in metal cutting tools and strengthen our market position in Malaysia. You will provide technical support, develop customer-focused solutions, and contribute to business growth.

Occasional travel within Southeast Asia is expected. Ideal candidates will have 5–8 years in metal cutting or CNC machining, strong CNC programming skills, and a background in CAD/CAM with GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in metal cutting tools or CNC machining industry.
• Proficient in CNC programming and modern machining technologies.
• Familiar with tooling systems for various industries (aerospace/automotive/engineering).
• Understanding CAD/CAM software and GD&T basics.
• Strong customer-focused consultations and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely technical support to customers and colleagues on product-related inquiries.
• Analyze customer technical requirements and recommend tailored machining solutions.
• Resolve complex machining challenges and offer practical technical guidance and training.
• Conduct trials and testing for new and existing products on customer-specific applications.
• Provide feedback on technical aspects of tools and systems to improve offerings.
• Manage cost-saving initiatives and tool management programs to enhance customer value.
• Deliver technical workshops and training sessions for customers and internal teams.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and technically skilled Technical Manager, base in Subang UEP to drive and strengthen our expertise in the metal cutting tools industry, while enhancing our market position in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will provide technical support, develop customer-focused solutions, and contribute to business growth. This role reports directly to the Sales Manager for Malaysia and requires occasional travel within the Southeast Asia region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Support: Provide timely solutions to product-related inquiries, addressing technical challenges faced by customers and colleagues.
• Customer Collaboration: Analyze customer technical requirements and recommend tailored solutions to improve machining performance.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve complex machining issues and offer practical technical advice and training.
• Application Testing: Conduct trials and testing for new and existing products on customer-specific applications and components.
• Product Development: Provide feedback on technical aspects of tools and systems to improve product offerings.
• Process Optimization: Manage and execute cost-saving initiatives and tool management programs to enhance customer value.
• Training Delivery: Facilitate technical workshops, seminars, and training sessions for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Industry Experience: 5–8 years of experience in the metal cutting tools or CNC machining industry. Proven track record in production engineering or machining operations.
• Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of CNC programming and modern machining technologies. Familiarity with tooling systems for aerospace, automotive, or general engineering industries is a plus. Understanding of CAD/CAM software and basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Customer Focus: Experience in conducting technical consultations and resolving customer challenges. Strong analytical skills to identify and address customer needs.
• Organizational Skills: Proficiency in managing technical projects, including coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders. Knowledge of inventory management systems and data-driven process improvements.
• Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and related technical tools.
• Personal Attributes: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. A proactive and customer-centric mindset, aligned with our core values.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the Aerospace manufacturing industry or Component Engineered Tooling (CET) projects is an advantage.
• Familiarity with cost-reduction initiatives and tool lifecycle management programs.
