Job summary

W.R Grace seeks a Technical Customer Service Lab Chemist to provide technical support to customers and internal teams, based at the Kuantan plant in Malaysia. The role supports PRISM & AD projects for Coatings, Plastics and Consumers applications, working with TCS Managers to advance product evaluation and application development.

The candidate will operate coating/polymer lab equipment, maintain safety standards, and collaborate with regional teams to drive product quality and customer

Qualifications

Operates coating/polymer lab equipment and analytical instruments.
Experience with edible oil refining processes is a plus.
Strong verbal and written English and Chinese communication skills.
Excellent presentation and communication abilities are essential for role.
Prior lab experience in coating or polymer fields is required.

Responsibilities

Ensure laboratory safety and regulatory compliance.
Maintain orderly lab, PPE use, labeling and storage of chemicals.
Keep records: inventories, waste disposal, MSDS, HIRA, lab assets, test methods, instructions.
Carry out day-to-day laboratory work and meet deadlines.
Collaborate with cross-regional TCS labs to share best practices.

W.R Grace is seeking a Technical Customer Service Lab Chemist role to handle all the laboratory activities that provide technical support to both external and internal customers including supporting TCS Managers in PRISM & AD projects for Coatings , Plastics and Consumers applications. The position operates within Material Technologies Business and the location is at our manufacturing Plant in Kuantan, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

Ensure the laboratory is operated in conformance with local safety and environmental regulations.
Maintain a safe and orderly lab with strict adherence to safety protocols, proper use of PPE, good housekeeping, proper chemical labelling and storage.
Managing and upkeeping of the essential records such as chemical inventories, chemical waste disposal, MSDS, HIRA, lab asset management, test methods and working instructions.
Ensure the day-to-day laboratory work is carried out and completed timely.
Collaborates with cross regional TCS labs to share best practices and support.
Support TCS Engineers to perform product characterization analysis, product application performance test, customer complaint investigations and product quality improvement initiatives.
Support TCS Manager on customer support projects, comparative studies & competitor benchmarking, application development work and Prism new product evaluation.
Provide product and application training to Grace sales and distributor sales team

Required Qualifications

Able to operate Coating / Polymer laboratory test equipment and analytical instruments.
Having application knowledge in Edible oil refining processes is an advantage.
Proficiency in English and Chinese language.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are critical success factors.
Prior experience working in coating / polymer laboratory.
