Job summary

AccountStaff in Kuala Lumpur seeks a qualified accounting professional to lead a team of staff serving a diverse client portfolio. The candidate will review accounts, coach team members and drive growth across client portfolios.

Strong accounting knowledge with cloud software experience (Xero, QBO, SAGE 300) is preferred, along with the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy required.
• Experience leading accounting teams in a professional services setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of accounting staff serving a portfolio of clients.
• Being professional financial expertise in meeting basic to complex accounting and financial related requirements for the clients.
• Review accounts prepared by the accounts assistants/seniors.
• Managing, coaching, mentoring and building high-performance teams.
• Responsible for growing both new and existing portfolios of clients.
• Resource planning, ensure cost-effectiveness and work efficiency of assignments and business operations.
• Passionate in building, driving, leading and growing the business to serve a great diversity of clients in various industries.
• Work with relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to drive transformation through innovation and digitalisation to support the firm’s objectives.
• Keep abreast with new software and technology within the market that can increase productivity and efficiency of the practice.
• Project manages the pre-implementation, UAT and post implementation of accounting solutions when required.

Requirements

Primary

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy.
• Team Lead: 3–6 years of relevant experience.
• Assistant Manager: 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Handling a portfolio of clients in various industries is an advantage.
• Able to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
• Proactive, committed, and able to work in a fast paced environment;
• Possess initiative and ability to work independently.
• Strong technical, analytical, problem solving skills.
• Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Prior working experience in accounting firm.

Secondary (Team-specific)

• Hands-on knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, QBO, SAGE 300) preferred.
