Job summary

Al Futtaim Retail in Malaysia is seeking a Tax Manager to lead the tax strategy and compliance operations. The role takes full ownership of the Tax Operating Model to keep the retail business compliant, efficient, and aligned with Group standards.

You will execute the Group tax strategy, manage planning and documentation, and lead audits in collaboration with Group Tax while maintaining strong relationships with external authorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in an international tax environment.
• Strong blend of Big 4 consulting and corporate in house experience.
• Demonstrated career stability with previous employers.
• Deep expertise in Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
• Certified in Tax, Finance, or Accounting.
• Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Execute the Group tax strategy and manage all tax planning, risk management, and documentation

Ensure the correct and timely filing of all Tax Returns and manage the tax provision process

Act as a key partner to the business, providing expert tax advice on transactions and acquisitions

Lead tax audits in collaboration with Group Tax and manage relationships with external authorities

Ensure all Malaysian Transfer Pricing regulations are strictly adhered to and documented

About you

Minimum 6 years of experience in an international tax environment

A strong blend of Big 4 consulting and corporate in house experience

Demonstrated career stability and strong tenure with previous employers

Deep expertise in Malaysian Tax laws and regulations

Certified in Tax, Finance, or Accounting

Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects with high attention to detail

Retail industry experience is a significant plus
