Job summary

S.H. LIM & CO, an audit and tax firm based in Johor Bahru, invites a Tax Assistant to gain practical experience in Malaysian taxation. Fresh graduates and candidates with relevant experience are welcome to apply; you will work with experienced colleagues with training and guidance provided.

About the role

We are an audit and tax firm serving mainly SMEs and individual clients. We are looking for a Tax Assistant to join our team and develop practical experience in Malaysian taxation.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues, with training and guidance provided. Fresh graduates and candidates with relevant experience are welcome to apply.

Key responsibilities

Assist in preparing tax computations and income tax returns for businesses and individuals.

Prepare supporting tax schedules and maintain organised tax files.

Liaise with clients to obtain documents and clarify information.

Assist with tax submissions, correspondence and follow-ups with LHDN.

Work with senior staff to complete assignments within the required deadlines.

What we’re looking for

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field, or currently pursuing a relevant professional qualification.

Basic knowledge of accounting and an interest in taxation.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Good attention to detail and ability to organise work and meet deadlines.

Willingness to learn, communicate with clients and work as part of a team.

A responsible attitude and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.

Relevant experience is an advantage but is not essential.
