Job summary

ELB Group in Port Klang, Malaysia, is seeking a Tank Farm Operator to manage receiving and transferring crude oils, palm kernel oil, chemicals, and additives from vessels, pipelines, or tankers. The role involves operating pumps, valves and transfer lines between tanks, refinery and loading bays, as well as heating and monitoring storage tanks to maintain proper viscosity.

You will take product samples for QC testing, ensure cleanliness of tanks and pipelines, and promptly report abnormalities

Qualifications

• SPM or Certificate in Engineering, Process or equivalent
• 1–3 years experience in palm oil, chemical, biodiesel or refinery tank farm operations
• Knowledge of pumps, valves and fluid transfer systems

Responsibilities

• Receive crude oils, palm kernel oil, chemicals and additives from vessels, pipelines or tankers
• Operate pumps, valves and transfer lines to move oils/products between tanks, refinery, biodiesel plant and loading bays
• Perform heating (steam/hot oil) of tanks to maintain product viscosity
• Monitor and record temperature, level and pressure of storage tanks
• Take product samples from tanks or pipelines for QC testing
• Ensure tanks and pipelines are clean, flushed and contamination-free before transfers
• Report any abnormalities in product quality, tank condition or transfer process
