About the Role

The Talent Strategy Assistant Manager supports the implementation of the organisation’s talent management, leadership development, and learning priorities.

Working closely with HR Business Partners, people managers, and senior leaders, you will manage assigned learning and talent development programmes, facilitate established talent processes, and provide insights to support talent and development discussions. The role will manage employee learning initiatives alongside development programmes for senior leaders, successors to critical roles, and identified talent pools.

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of Talent Management and Learning frameworks, tools, processes, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Management and Succession

Coordinate and facilitate talent reviews and calibration sessions for assigned business areas.

Support succession planning for critical roles, including tracking successors, readiness levels, and agreed development actions.

Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to identify talent priorities and development needs.

Coordinate and monitor development plans for successors and priority talent groups.

Maintain accurate talent and succession information, ensuring appropriate confidentiality and discretion.

Learning, Leadership and Talent Development

Conduct learning and capability needs analysis and contribute to annual Talent & Development planning.

Design and manage learning, leadership, and professional development programmes across employee levels, including core skills, management development, digital learning, and targeted programmes for senior leaders, successors, and critical-role talent.

Coordinate development interventions such as assessments, coaching, mentoring, leadership forums, workshops, and experiential learning.

Manage end-to-end programme delivery, including stakeholder engagement, communications, learning systems, enrolment, logistics, training records, and evaluation.

Manage external providers and partners to ensure programme quality, participant experience, and value.

Evaluate programme effectiveness and recommend improvements to impact, participant experience, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Stakeholder Partnership and Talent Insights

Build effective relationships with HR Business Partners, people managers, senior leaders, and other key stakeholders.

Analyse talent and learning data and translate findings into clear insights, reports, and recommendations for stakeholders and senior leadership discussions.

Present programme updates and facilitate selected talent, learning, and development discussions, where appropriate.

Follow through on actions arising from talent reviews, succession discussions, and development programmes.

Frameworks and Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Talent Management and Learning frameworks, curricula, tools, processes, and initiatives.

Collaborate with regional and global teams to implement relevant initiatives locally.

Manage talent and learning systems, learning calendars, data quality, governance, budgets, regulatory requirements, and reporting for assigned programs.

Undertake other related responsibilities and projects as assigned, in line with evolving business and Talent Strategy priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organisational Development, Education, or a related discipline.

5-8 years of relevant experience in Talent Management, Learning and Development, Leadership Development, Organisational Development, or a related HR area.

Experience in :

managing talent, leadership, or learning programmes from planning through implementation and evaluation.

managing external providers and programme budgets

engaging senior leaders and working within a matrixed organization

managing talent reviews, succession planning, leadership development, or structured talent development programmes.

Strong programme management, stakeholder engagement, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Good analytical ability, with the capacity to translate data and feedback into practical recommendations.

Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential talent and succession information.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently within established frameworks.

Experience in an MNC, preferably within insurance or financial services, is an advantage.

Working knowledge of HRD Corp requirements, claims, and related learning administration is preferred.
