Celestica’s Penang Design Centre in Malaysia seeks a Supplier Specialist for PCBA, Cable and Label. You will drive supplier performance, resolve complex issues, and implement recovery and development tools to achieve world-class levels.

Interaction spans internal teams, suppliers and customers to improve capabilities and lead-time reductions. The role requires five+ years in sourcing or supplier management, a engineering degree, and strong analytical and negotiation skills to ensure demand

Supplier Specialist (PCBA, Cable and Label)

Drives performance improvement at critical suppliers by identifying and resolving complex systemic problems. Ensures assigned suppliers deliver on holistic improvement and drive rapid functional issue resolution. Implements Supplier Recovery, Improvement, and standard work to develop suppliers to perform at World Class levels by improving process capabilities. Interfaces with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers regarding supplier performance and improvement actions.

Key responsibilities

• Validate POs to support demand are accurate
• Measure and improve supplier Line of Balances (LOB) and past dues (PD)
• Verify raw material and work in process positions
• Review yield and quality performance
• Resolve capacity issues and identify tooling gaps and needs
• Ensure supplier has stable and accurate demand signals and improve supplier look ahead metrics
• Deploy Supplier Recovery and Development advanced tools including assessments, training, quality improvements, delivery improvements, capacity improvement, lead-time reductions, Lean, Six Sigma, and cost savings
• Create and manage implementation of strategic projects including project plans, overall tracking capability, and reporting of progress
• Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams driving improvements in OTTR, Past Due, Volatility and Linearity
• Complete root cause analysis and recommend and implement corrective actions where projected results are below plan

Requirements

• Five plus years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in related field (Engineering), or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Good knowledge of electronics manufacturing environment, material and processes (specifically in PCBA, Cable Assembly and Label commodities)
• Expert understanding and interpretation of traffic and customs rules and regulations
• Knowledge of basic computer applications such as WORD, Excel, PowerPoint and multiple business applications
• Good understanding of internal and external customer requirements
• Good financial, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Ability to identify and resolve high complexity process and system problems using financial, analytical, and statistical models
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers
