About the role

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor / Senior Supervisor to join our operations team in Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in overseeing daily manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for leading a team of production, ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is essential to the success of our operations and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our manufacturing processes and team performance.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and manage daily operations of production or logistics teams, ensuring all activities align with company objectives and schedules
Monitor team performance and productivity, implementing corrective actions when required to meet targets and deadlines
Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols and workplace regulations at all times
Train, mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
Identify and resolve operational challenges quickly and efficiently, escalating complex issues when necessary
Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment, processes and work areas to maintain high operational standards
Communicate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams to coordinate operations and share progress updates
Maintain accurate records of production data, inventory, safety incidents and team performance metrics
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and implementing process enhancements
Promote a safe working environment and ensure all team members follow health and safety guidelines

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Supervisor or Senior Supervisor in a manufacturing, production environment
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate, manage and develop team members effectively
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance standards and workplace safety regulations
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Proficiency in using production management systems, data collection tools and MS Office applications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise across all levels of the organisation
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards
Ability to work flexible hours when required to meet operational demands
Relevant qualifications in supervisory management, manufacturing engineering or related disciplines are advantageous
Experience in the electronics, semiconductor or precision manufacturing industries is highly desirable
