Are you passionate about supplier quality and supply chain excellence? We are looking for a proactive and technically competent Supplier Quality Management Engineer to drive supplier development, quality assurance, and manufacturing excellence across our global supply base. This role plays a critical part in ensuring suppliers consistently deliver products that meet Aemulus' quality, delivery, and reliability expectations. You will work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to develop capable suppliers, resolve quality issues, and support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up.
Here is where you will come in:
(a) Supplier Quality Management
- Lead supplier qualification, assessment, approval, and periodic re-evaluation activities.
- Evaluate supplier manufacturing capability, process maturity, and quality management systems.
- Monitor supplier quality performance using KPI, PPM, OTD, SCAR closure, and quality scorecards.
- Drive supplier continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, delivery, cost, and reliability.
- Develop strategic suppliers capable of supporting future business growth and parallel manufacturing.
- Lead First Article Inspection (FAI), process validation, and supplier production readiness activities.
- Review supplier Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow, Work Instructions, and Inspection Plans.
- Verify supplier compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, IPC standards, and customer requirements.
- Drive PPAP, FAIR, capability studies, and process qualification where applicable.
- Support supplier process transfer, localization, and new supplier onboarding.
(c) Supplier Quality Assurance
- Lead supplier corrective action (SCAR), 8D review, root cause verification, and effectiveness validation.
- Conduct supplier failure investigations involving PCB, PCBA, fabrication, mechanical assemblies, and purchased materials.
- Coordinate containment actions, sorting activities, and production recovery plans.
- Monitor supplier quality trends and identify preventive improvement opportunities.
- Participate in MRB, deviation, waiver, and engineering change discussions involving suppliers.
(d) Incoming Quality & Production Support
- Support IQA activities involving PCB, PCBA, fabrication parts, mechanical assemblies, and purchased materials.
- Establish incoming inspection criteria based on supplier capability and risk assessment.
- Review FAIR reports, dimensional reports, COC, material certifications, and inspection records.
- Support NPI, pilot builds, engineering builds, and production ramp-up activities.
(e) Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, Contract Manufacturers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in Design Reviews, ECO/ECN implementation, DFM reviews, and supplier technical discussions.
- Support customer audits and supplier audits.
- Lead supplier quality meetings and quarterly business reviews.
- Drive cost reduction through yield improvement, defect prevention, and process optimization.
- Promote quality awareness throughout the supply chain.
Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Engineering field or its equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Experience managing PCB, PCBA, mechanical fabrication, machining, sheet metal, plastics, cable assembly, and contract manufacturers.
- Experience working with global suppliers (China, Malaysia, etc.) is an added advantage.
