Job summary

SFP Tech Holdings Berhad seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage supplier quality issues and drive CAPA actions across cross-functional teams in Penang. You will support new product launches, process changes, and engineering changes while improving supplier processes and overall product quality.

The role requires 2–3 years in manufacturing or supplier quality, strong APQP/PPAP knowledge, and proficiency with core quality tools to monitor FPY, scrap, defects, and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or related field.
• 2–3 years in manufacturing, supplier quality, quality assurance, or related role.
• Experience in supplier quality management and supplier audits preferred.
• Good understanding of APQP and PPAP processes.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
• Ability to evaluate and qualify new suppliers and conduct audits.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
• Willingness to work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate containment, corrective, and preventive actions with cross-functional teams using quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with suppliers on quality issues, including CAPA and improvement plans, and ensure timely closure.
• Support and participate in APQP and PPAP activities for new product launches, process changes, and engineering changes.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and key metrics, including FPY, scrap rate, defect trends, and supplier PPM.
• Conduct and support supplier evaluation, qualification, and audits, including system, process, and product audits.
• Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, QA, and Customer Quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance.
• Liaise between internal departments and customers to clarify product requirements, specifications, quality standards, and technical inquiries.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce defects, improve process capability, and enhance overall quality performance.
• Ensure supplier corrective actions are properly documented, implemented, and verified for effectiveness.
• Maintain relevant quality records, reports, audit findings, CAPA documentation, and supplier performance data.
