Job summary

Axcellence Consulting in Malaysia (Penang) is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives across manufacturing partners. You will drive audits, FAI, DFMs, and process improvements with a strong focus on ISO/IATF standards.

The role requires hands-on IPC/SMT knowledge, problem solving, and a track record of collaborating with R&D and supply chain to qualify new materials and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and above, BS/BE degree.
  • 7 years working experience in manufacturing & quality assurance.
  • Familiar with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, IATF16949.
  • Hands on IPC, SMT, WB/DA, FMEA, Automotive Core Tools.
  • Experience in quality analysis, problem solving, project management, customer & supplier audit, first article, process audit etc.
  • Knowledge or certified in IPC 610 standard (CIS/CIT).
  • FMEA, Control Plan, GR&R, DOE.
  • Added advantage, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt and Certified CQE.
  • Working independently and with minimum supervisions.
  • Show strong leadership and self-driven motivation to achieve excellent result.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for suppliers on quality and technical matters.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to develop and qualify new raw materials, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Track and resolve supplier quality issues, including Failure Analysis (FA) and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Review Design for Manufacturability (DFM) with suppliers and the R&D team.
  • Conduct supplier audits to evaluate and enhance their quality management systems.
  • Manage and oversee supplier changes, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Provide technical support and training to suppliers to improve their processes and product quality.
  • Analyze supplier quality data and trends, generating reports to guide improvement efforts.
  • Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by validating supplier readiness and conducting First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, RoHS, and REACH.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
