ResMed Inc is seeking a Supervisor, Manufacturing Technician to lead daily manufacturing, assembly and packing operations in a regulated environment. You will manage a team, coordinate scheduling, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The Supervisor, Manufacturing Technician is responsible for leading and overseeing daily manufacturing, assembly, and production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of high-quality products. This role provides hands-on leadership to a team of Manufacturing Technicians and Operators while driving production performance, workforce effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent is accountable for coordinating production schedules, equipment readiness, process optimization, and quality standards to meet business objectives and customer demand. The role requires close collaboration with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and compliance with ResMed's Quality Management System, GMP, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), and regulatory requirements. In addition to providing technical expertise in manufacturing processes, the Supervisor, Manufacturing Technician plays a key role in developing team capability, improving productivity, and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Production Leadership & Operations Management Lead and supervise day-to-day manufacturing, assembly, and packing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved. Coordinate workforce planning, production scheduling, and resource allocation to support changing business demands and operational priorities. Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address operational issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies. Ensure manufacturing activities are executed in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and regulatory requirements. Support new product introductions, process validations, and manufacturing readiness activities.
Team Leadership & Development Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to Manufacturing Technicians, Operators, and production support personnel. Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Develop team capability through training, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and skills development initiatives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. Support recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and succession planning activities within the team.
Equipment & Process Management Oversee setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and production tooling. Ensure equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and documentation activities are completed in accordance with established schedules and procedures. Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment-related issues and improve equipment reliability and uptime. Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and productivity enhancements.
Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with ResMed Quality Management System requirements, GMP, OH&S standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process controls, and finished goods quality checks. Support investigations related to non-conformances, deviations, complaints, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain accurate production records, equipment documentation, and compliance-related reports. Drive adherence to safety policies and promote a strong safety-first culture across the manufacturing operation.
Continuous Improvement Analyze operational data and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities. Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives. Implement best practices to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Contribute to strategic and operational objectives that support organizational goals and manufacturing excellence.
Educational Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience Minimum 5 years of manufacturing, production, or assembly experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Minimum 2 years of supervisory, team leader, or people management experience. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production operations, equipment maintenance, and quality systems. Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing production priorities in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of GMP, Quality Management Systems, and Occupational Health & Safety requirements. Strong problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels. Proficiency in manufacturing systems, production reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Experience Within the medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification. Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, calibration systems, and process validation activities. Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA, or other relevant regulatory standards. Proven track record in driving operational improvements and leading change initiatives.
Full understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, equipment maintenance, and quality requirements. Ability to analyze production and operational data to support decision-making and process improvements. Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams and developing talent. Ability to balance hands-on operational support with strategic and supervisory responsibilities. Commitment to safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
