Job description

The Supervisor, Manufacturing Technician is responsible for leading and overseeing daily manufacturing, assembly, and production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of high-quality products. This role provides hands‑on leadership to a team of Manufacturing Technicians and Operators while driving production performance, workforce effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Production Leadership & Operations Management
  • Lead and supervise day‑to‑day manufacturing, assembly, and packing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Coordinate workforce planning, production scheduling, and resource allocation to support changing business demands and operational priorities.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address operational issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities are executed in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support new product introductions, process validations, and manufacturing readiness activities.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to Manufacturing Technicians, Operators, and production support personnel.
  • Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
  • Develop team capability through training, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and skills development initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and succession planning activities within the team.
Equipment & Process Management
  • Oversee setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and production tooling.
  • Ensure equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and documentation activities are completed in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment‑related issues and improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and productivity enhancements.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with ResMed Quality Management System requirements, GMP, OH&S standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee incoming material inspections, in‑process controls, and finished goods quality checks.
  • Support investigations related to non‑conformances, deviations, complaints, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain accurate production records, equipment documentation, and compliance‑related reports.
  • Drive adherence to safety policies and promote a strong safety‑first culture across the manufacturing operation.
Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze operational data and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement best practices to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational objectives that support organizational goals and manufacturing excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing, production, or assembly experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory, team leader, or people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production operations, equipment maintenance, and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing production priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, Quality Management Systems, and Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing systems, production reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
  • Experience within the medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, calibration systems, and process validation activities.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA, or other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Proven track record in driving operational improvements and leading change initiatives.
