Job summary

ResMed Inc in Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive and oversee production processes, including line layout, material flow, process validation, routing, and lean initiatives. This role collaborates with R&D, QA and production teams to ensure scalable, efficient manufacturing.

You will lead root-cause analyses, support audits, promote GMP/EHS compliance, and coach technicians in problem solving and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Process Management: Drive and oversee manufacturing processes, including production line layout, material flow optimization, process validation, routing, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Manufacturing Process Management: Monitor and improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and process capability to meet operational targets.
• Manufacturing Process Management: Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing non-conformances through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Manufacturing Process Management: Assess operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to support business continuity and manufacturing resilience.
• Manufacturing Process Management: Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to established manufacturing standards.
• Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory requirements, and company policies relating to Quality, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and operational excellence.
• Compliance & Quality: Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
• Technical Leadership & Problem Solving: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for manufacturing processes and provide technical support to cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Technical Leadership & Problem Solving: Lead or participate in troubleshooting activities to resolve complex technical and process-related issues.
• Technical Leadership & Problem Solving: Coach and support technicians in identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges.
• Technical Leadership & Problem Solving: Apply engineering principles and data-driven methodologies to improve process performance and product quality.
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Drive Business Excellence initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, waste reduction, and process optimization projects.
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Support the evaluation, development, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and best practices.
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, PFMEAs, and other process documentation to ensure sustainable operational excellence.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate closely with NPI, Quality, R&D, and Production teams during process development and product transfer activities.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Provide manufacturing input during product and process design reviews to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and process robustness.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Support validation activities and successful transition from development to mass production.
• Collaboration & Behaviours: Work effectively with Safety, Quality, Facilities, Production, Supply Chain, System Engineer and Engineering teams to achieve shared business objectives.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, and process validation methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Ability to evaluate and resolve engineering and manufacturing challenges with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
